It’s Electric!

Erich Buetler’s 1991 Morris Mini Cooper conversion of an old Mini Cooper from gasoline fueled into a electric vehicle is rather stunning.  And with the front bonnet (hood) open, one can see details of engineer, IT and car freaks dreams. The motor is a FIMEA 50N20 3-Phase AC, phase voltage: 3 * 60 VAC, rated power of 22 kW, max power at 28 kW, rated speed of 4000 rpm and mass at 58 kg. The drivetrain is an asynchronous 3 phase motor coupled with belt to original gearbox and when Erich talks about acceleration, he says “Quite good especially when considering that I normally drive in the 3rd gear!” So hats off to Mr. Buetler for a great job on yet another converted classic to be rolling the flats and hills of Ebikon, Lucerne Switzerland. And stay tuned for upcoming projects we will be filming at our new studio in Wilmington, Delaware along stories from these pioneering electrified women and men, new models of electric car chargers, car fashion and much more!
